I've been using PuTTY for a long time, and it has a feature I've gotten used to: bold control sequence is treated as bright, and I like this much more than the text appearing as actual bold.

I'm not sure I understand. Can you provide a screenshot?

Stefan,

I think Ender speak of this:

The bold text is formated with a brighter color (the grey turns white) but not really bold... It's right that sometimes it's easy to read when the font isn't bold blush

In many SSH clients, you can edit how text is displayed, change colors for background/foreground, make the cursor blinking ....

PuTTY offer it this way:

I think I saw this kind of options in the SSHTerminalControl object properties... There is also a TerminalPalete object that may allow to change this...
I'll open the Rebex samples to see that somewhere cheeky

I think there are some things which can be done in terms of styles and colors. I haven't really looked at that yet but if there are some "quick wins", I'm happy to provide them right away. If it's a bigger investment in time and effort, I would suggest to postpone such things for a post 2.1 release...

Maybe something like this may help: http://blog.rebex.net/news/archive/20... cheeky

But it's about color palette... I don't really know if it enable/disable the bold effect ... indecision

Redefining the whole color palette can be postponed...

But being able to choose the background (SchemeColorName. Background) and foreground (SchemeColorName.Foreground) would be definitely very useful!

At work we have an (very) old Compaq/Digital server under Tru64 Unix with to manage 279 SUN Solaris servers in batchs but the guy who wrote the scripts used black text everywhere surprise
Maybe his terminal was configured with a grey background or he worked on an old amber monitor cheeky

So if you can't change the background color, it's very difficult to read black text on black background cheeky

As this server use the old SSH 1.5 and not th 2.0 protocol, Royal TS can't connect to it as Rebex don't support anything else than SSH 2.0 but... who knows our guy may have written other script elsewhere cheeky
