I was trying the option to hide the Navigation pane and noticed that the displayed display size is the same and i get gray bars on either side of the RDP session that is displayed. Is there any way to have the displayed desktop window automatically refresh and resize to fill the RTS window, which in my case RTS is running in Full Screen.

Hi,
unfortunately the RDP protocol doesn't allow dynamic desktop size changes. That's also the reason we have the "smart reconnect" feature for external window resize. Once the resize is complete and smart reconnect is enabled, Royal TS will disconnect and reconnect to "adapt" to the new desktop size. Of course, this feauter only pays off, if you have automatic logon, otherwise you have to re-type your password. Anyway, recognizing the embedded client size change is much more difficult and therefore smart reconnect doesn't have an effect here.
What you can do is to start the connection from the beginning with the autohidden navigation panel or you hit reconnect yourself to force the remote desktop size to be adapted.
Hope this helps.
cheers,
Stefan

Hello The Smart Resize is good feature althought it doesn't always work.
It doesn't work when using Maximize button in top left corner.. i tried to manualy resize it down, then resize it up and it was working.. but when i hit maximize settings weren't affected.
Also I managed to find myself in situation where Actions Ribbon was gone while I had RDP open and could see it, resizing didn't had effect then. Can't reproduce it now.

Also I couldn't find a way to set Smart Reconnect in properties of connection.. only thru Actions menu.. also the settings doesnt seem to be preserved on close/open Royal TS. Also couldn't find a way to set it up for all connections (even in a group at once).. this seems like a nice feature but it's misisng some of it's features :-)

Thanks for the bug report. I've fixed the maximize/restore behavior of the main window to enable smart reconnect. Next release (hopefully today) will have it on board.
You're right, changing smart sizing and smart reconnect while connected doesn't persist in the connection.
To change the setting permanently, go to the Display Options and change the Resize Mode setting.
cheers,
Stefan

Thanks, is there a way to change the setting for all sites at once? It even doesn't allow me to change all per folder :) I don't see myself going thru 60+ entries :-)

I suggest you use the folder dashboard to pick all your connections (including from subfolders) you want to change (see http://www.code4ward.net/main/Blog/ta...)
After you've selected all your connections (using shift/ctrl click) click on properties to open the bulk-edit dialog. Navigate to the Display Options and use the button Override (upper-right corner of the property page) and select Resize Mode. The drop down should now be enabled. Select your preferred setting and click ok. This way only the property you override will be applied to your selection.
Hope this helps.
cheers!

Ah, I missed the override button. Is tehre a way to choose all folders and do the bulk edit or it's only possible to do it per folder? I don't have subfolders under folders. Just document and then 10 folders in which i have from 3 to 30 connections. When i click on document it only shows me my folders and not sites witin those folders.

Take a look at the blog post I've linked in my previous post. The folder dashboard is quite powerful. You can select the document (top level) and choose to view all items from all subfolders. Using filters and sort you can filter/sort by object type, name or whatever. This helps you to find your connections and edit them easily.

Don't worry. I understand it's hard to find all the nice things in Royal TS V2. Still no help file or documentation but once we deliver this, I hope it will help people to get around...
cheers!

Do you consider this a bur or rather a normal behaviour -> when you dock / undock Navigation panel (hidden / unhidden) it doesn't do reconnect and leaves the grey background. This is for all open sites.

Smart reconnect "listens" only to window size changes (like maximize or resizing by mouse). It's kind of hard to hook into the docking framework and determine if the tabbed space size changed. Especially when you have a horizontal or vertical split view and move the divider. I'm looking into it but I cannot really promise if I can "cleanly" handle those events for the smart size functionality. Worst case, is to hit the reconnect button in case of such an event...

When I have multiple connections open resizing is only applied to current connection. All other connections stay not resized. Is there a planned change to this feature? I understand problems with this so I don't expect this to be fixed.

Right now, we want to leave it at that for performance reasons. When someone has lots of connections open a resize of the main window might freeze Royal TS for a long time and in our tests it also was "unstable". We experienced crashes when lots of connections were reconnected simultaneously. Originally we planned smart reconnect for external window connections where it's always the "one" connection which is resized. When we extended smart reconnect to the main window we knew that this can end badly with lots of connections...
We might add an option later on allowing you to reconnect all embedded connections with the disclaimer "use at your own risk" ;-)
cheers,
Stefan
